I know I’m not alone when it comes to absolutely loving Pinterest. There’s always something thrilling about revelling in both dream-land and the ‘almost attainable’ lifestyle images that the site plays host to.
So I was amused by, and had one of those ‘sooo true’ moments when I stumbled upon this picture:
Very true of course, but also a bitter view of the site I have come to love and rely on for more inspiration than my brain can possibly process. The Romanticist in me doesn’t want to believe that I may never have that perfect front door/closet/dressing table top/moment of sublimity…Because it’s not as though Pinterest lets us ogle sparkling unicorns and cherubs strumming gilded harps; rather, these are real images (albeit extremely stunning ones), and so the aspirations on offer are technically achievable. Forgetting all this, it’s just so pleasant to feast on a little escapism now and again, right?
