Tell it Like it is

Let me draw your attention to a new tumblr blog with a unique angle. Fashion Industry Confessions has only been around for the best part of this month, but already, its controversial posts have sparked interest. It features images of well known models, bloggers, fashion editors, and designers, with a ‘censored’-style bar across the eyes. The captions are all anonymous opinions, and might be something like: ‘KARLIE K IS NOT FOR VICTORIA’S SECRET’. The thing is, while some of the tag-lines make you go ‘ouch’, the opinions are all just generalised attacks or compliments. Nothing particularly profound there. As for the omission of surnames, you’re not exactly plagued by mystery as to the identity of the offender. While it’s not exactly ‘well done’, as it were, the fact that I’m writing about this new find indicates that it clearly has speculative appeal! It’s this sense of collectively indulging in negative corroboration. In other words, we all like to bitch ;)

My personal responses to each pic:

Perfect description for Barbara Palvin- agreed! / Luckily the Gemma Ward archives are epic. But it’d still be nice to have more. (Greedy for her beauty) / Fashion is often concerned with the perfection of imperfection. So I guess this is partially true! / On the fence- would need to meet the man in person in order to gauge. / Totally agree. / One of his best. Very extraordinary. However I also think his September 2007 editorial for Vogue US is another example of his finest work.

I’m not so black and white, you see!!
