Tibi silk print dress / Maison Martin Margiela fur gilet / Jil Sander ballerina shoes / Givenchy envelope clutch / Ayaka Nishi sterling silver bracelet
When I compiled this outfit, what I had in mind was to create something really striking you could wear to a gorgeous dinner party or restaurant.
I’ve been influenced a lot recently by Kate Moss’s glamorous evening look of wispy fur over a sleek maxi dress. I think this short fur by Maison Martin Margiela would work so well, but to change it up a bit, I opted for an injection of colour in the form of this stunning print shift dress by Tibi. The black offsets the vibrancy of the sea-green colour perfectly.
I’m always a firm believer in not mixing too many colours in one outfit, unless you’re print clashing. Instead, I add dimension to a one or two toned outfit by mixing up texture, in the way you would decorate a bed for instance! I think it’s important to keep that in mind- fashion is just as much about touch as it is ocular.
Finally, I had to include this stunning fishbone bracelet by Ayaka Nishi. It’s such a statement piece that really no other jewellery is required. The matte effect just adds enough shine as well- after all, one should look a little shiny at a fabulous dinner event!
Every time I create these outfits, I think to myself- a) Would these items even look good together in reality? And b) I wish I could try them all out so I could know for sure!!
Anyway, I love experimenting regardless.
Hope you all have a fab Sunday and are inspired to plan your next week’s outfits :)
