Valentino Resort 2013

I couldn’t not share my love for Valentino’s Resort 2013 collection. It’s beautiful, ethereal, quirky and edgy all the the same time.

The first thought that entered my mind were the words ‘secret garden’ due to the stunning summer palette of emeralds, white, and pinks, coupled with the demure lacy skirts and dresses.

I just think the full skirts and sweet kitten heels are so English and coquettish don’t you?

Then the collection continued to throw out more intricate lace designs and rich jewelled tones complete with russet, ruby and a splash of pale lemon. Exquisite right?

Then all of a sudden it was like ‘BAM’, as dramatic black outfits took centre stage offering a bit of sharp modernity whilst still adhering to the lacy and flouncy theme. I love the black-edged loafers and that stunning chevron print dress in particular! That’s surely got to be one of the stand-out pieces.

After a little dip to the ‘dark-side’, it was back to soft pastels and voluminous shapes. The collection definitely ended on a high note with this amazing floral-appliqued gown with tulle skirt.

Now these are the kinds of dresses fairytales are made of!
