Tamara Weijenberg and Anouck Lepere for Velvet Magazine. Photography by Marcus Ohlsson. Source: models.com
No not that La Mer, although we wouldn’t pass up a tub or five of the wonder cream if anyone was offering ;)
This stunning and softly lit editorial for Velvet Magazine conjures images of a day at the beach when you shouldn’t really be at the beach. Ie. when there’s that slightly damp quality in the air, and the sea spews out more of a fine cold mist than a salty and refreshing tang to cool your sun-drenched skin.
These are beachy images reminiscent more of northern, rather than southern France, or Cornwall on a sunny yet slightly overcast summer afternoon. I like it- there’s no pretence of tropical powdery sand or scorchingly hot rays, just raw images of a sea-side day when tanning really is the last thing on your mind.
I think it’s a really evocative shoot and tells a subtle story of love and friendship blossoming in such a natural setting. Plus, it helps that it features Anouck Lepere, and although you can’t see much of her face, she’s coincidentally one of my favourite models.
Ooh and check out the accompanying video over at models.com!

Incredible movement in these shots from the breeze against the fabrics.
