Fearlessly Street

Photography: Tommy Ton for Style.com

Fearless and audacious were definitely the words which sprang to mind when I glimpsed Tommy Ton’s recent shots of the Milan and Paris Menswear scene.

Of course, with colourful characters such as Anna Dello Russo out and about, that look is completely expected.

I for one love the bright mix of Versace print, Shourouk accessories, and humorous fashion emblems- (check out that smoking Prada clutch!)

It seemed to be smiles all round, even from the normally cool-looking Ms Dello Russo. Her outfit choices are incredible- the flash of that hot pink dress and print & peplum number.

Some serious inspiration here that makes me want to don my florals, clash them with navajo print and mint-green nails! (And this coming from a girl who generally eschews colour…)

Best of all, it’s given me some food for thought for my Autumn wardrobe. I reckon the print and floral trend will remain strong- I’m taking note from the woman in the third pic and staying on the lookout for a more romantic and darker floral print blouse to pair with skirts when the cooler weather hits.

Gosh, it’s barely even July yet and I’m already thinking ahead!

Dazed Inspiration

A little inspiration for a Friday night dress up?

Love this glamorous spread with bold picks by stylist Robbie Spencer. I’m drooling over these exquisite pieces- there’s a great mix of avant-garde designers featured including Junya Watanabe, Maison Martin Margiela, Giles and Jonathan Saunders. Plus, some incredible designs from heavy-weight brands such as Prada, Yves Saint Laurent, Gucci and Dior Homme. And the vivid peacock-inspired makeup is stunning!

Make a fashion-forward statement this weekend! I know I want to ;) Enjoy xxx

Channelling the Exotic: Turbans

I’m having a little moment for turbans. They just evoke an exoticism that’s part ‘Days of the Maharajah’, part Loulou de la Falaise and part White Mischief. The perfect summer headpiece, both in practicality and style, to keep summer frizz in check, and to add a bold flash of colour.

Prada’s S/S 2007 campaign featuring Sasha Pivovarova, first drew my attention to the way a decadently silky head-wrap in jewelled tones, could bring glamour to an outfit. I haven’t yet been brave enough to try the look, although a woolly version is quite chic in the winter. There’s always a first though!
